While EVs could account for more than 80% of sales in 2030 for some OEMs, automakers say this is no longer their goal. General Motors, Porsche and Tesla have adjusted their stance on the global shift to sustainable energy, recognizing the enduring role of oil and gas. Porsche has revised its ambitions emphasizing the slower-than-expected transition to EV dominance, now expecting only 12% of the vehicles it sells this year to be battery-electric, down from 15%.

A survey conducted across the U.S., Germany, Japan, and China reveals that car buyers are increasingly defecting from their current brands, with Gen Z showing the lowest brand loyalty. Key reasons for this include dissatisfaction with fuel efficiency, storage space, and driving noise, highlighting the need for automakers to focus on quality aspects. While there is interest in BEVs for their economical benefits, government mandates and incentives have not significantly increased BEV adoption.

FROM AUTO REMARKETING: Inventory, incentives fuel rise in customer satisfaction with OEM websites

Car manufacturer websites have reached their highest satisfaction levels in 3½ years, largely due to increased transparency in vehicle production, delivery updates, and pricing information. Premium brand websites scored an average satisfaction of 739 on a 1,000-point scale, while mass-market brands averaged 722. Chevrolet led all brands with a score of 758, followed by Mercedes-Benz.
